Dee Nickerson was born in South Norfolk in 1957. From quite an early age she found excitement, challenge and escapism in making art. Influenced by among others, Munnings and Hockney she soon decided she really wanted to be an artist.

Dee has gathered a huge following, with many admirers and collectors of her paintings drawn to her gentle observation of the natural world around her remote home in Suffolk. Her paintings are informed by her deep understanding of everyday country life through the changing seasons. By taking these references, Dee combines memories past and present along with a lifelong love of fashion and textile design to create pictorial stories that lead the observer into a tranquil world.
